This past Halloween, canyon trick or treaters received an extra something special when local residents and a generous contribution from GOCHA allowed for a stretch of Hollister Terrace between Edwards and Tryon to be closed to automobile traffic, making this popular area safe for our youngest goblins and super heroes to ply their candy grabbing skills. In addition, magic shows and costume contests rounded out the festivities making this past Halloween one of the most memorable in some time.
Special thanks to Eileen Young for getting the ball rolling.
We would like to know you thoughts on closing down the section of Hollister this past Halloween Should this be an annual Halloween event in the Canyon? Add a comment to this post and let us know.

This year Halloween on Hollister looked like it had just jumped right off the screen from some Hollywood movie.
The houses were decorated in suitably horrible fashion, and the children were free to wander up and down and across a long stretch of the street without fear of passing automobiles.
I thought it was fantastic to see so many canyon residents get into the spirit, and the children clearly had a wonderful time.
So, if the cost for the street closure was not too outrageous, then I think it would be a great tradition to continue.

My husband and I just purchased our home in Nov. 2008 at 2411 Hollister Ter and we would love for the street to be blocked off again this year and can’t wait to decorate and dress up this Halloween. Looking forward to the holiday.
